Team Roles & Permissions

Different team members need different levels of access. Pautly's role system lets you control exactly what each person can do.

Available Roles

Each team member has one of four roles:

RoleCapabilities
OwnerFull access, can delete team and transfer ownership
AdminManage members and pages, but cannot delete team
MemberEdit shared pages, cannot manage team settings
ViewerView-only access to shared pages

Changing Roles

Team owners and admins can change member roles. Go to Team Settings > Members, click on a member, and select their new role.

Warning: Only owners can promote members to admin or transfer ownership.

Removing Members

To remove a team member, go to their profile in Team Settings and click "Remove from Team". Their access to shared pages is immediately revoked.

Best Practices

  • Limit the number of admins to essential personnel
  • Use viewer role for stakeholders who just need to see pages
  • Regularly review and audit team access
  • Remove access when team members leave
