Creating Experiments

5 min readA/B Testing

Ready to run your first experiment? This guide walks you through setting up an A/B test step by step.

Step 1: Choose a Link to Test

From the Experiments tab, click "New Experiment". Select the link you want to optimize. We recommend starting with your most-clicked link for the biggest impact.

Step 2: Create Your Variants

You'll see your current link as Variant A (control). Create Variant B by modifying one element - the title, URL, or appearance. Only change one thing at a time to know what caused the difference.

Warning: Changing multiple elements at once makes it impossible to know which change affected the results.

Step 3: Set Traffic Split

Choose how to split traffic between variants. The default 50/50 split is recommended for most tests. You can adjust this if you want to limit exposure to the new variant.

Step 4: Launch the Experiment

Review your setup and click "Start Experiment". Your test is now live! Visitors will be randomly assigned to one variant or the other.

Step 5: Monitor & Wait

Check in on your experiment periodically, but resist the urge to stop it early. Let the data accumulate until you reach statistical significance.

Tip: You can run multiple experiments on different links simultaneously, but only one experiment per link at a time.
